Tasting notes

Meaty red wine. Deep dark cherry colour with fat tears. Rich ripe fruity nose with plums and cherries first and fine mineral hints. Pure onset with fine evolution and yet force drawn from the tannins. Wide mouth filling. Long finish with stone fruit and spice. Requires solid, aged red meat or ground game. Also delicious when braised vegetarian casseroles with red vegetables. Till 5 years, decant in advance. Serving temperature: 16°C.

Wine Story

I met Frank Matthys at Vinexpo in 1993. In that year Frank was starting his business focusing on "New World" wines. Belgium was a market focused on French wines and in that context, his approach was clearly innovative.

The first wine he bought was a Torrontés, looking for something that would express Argentina's identity.

27 years later, we are still working together and that makes me very happy. Our children have grown up and integrated to the companies, in my case they are taking the responsibility of the company and Sebastian markets his personal project "Cara Sur" through Matthys.

We were very different companies from what each one is now, however, the passion for quality and innovation has been maintained on both sides over time and has been taken over by the new generation.
