Playful exuberant fruity natural red wine. Deep cherry colour with solid tears. Exuberant nose of blackberries and blue juniper with black pepper. Solid attack on the palate with and perfectly integrated fine acidity and slim tannins. Mouth-filling with rich and ripe finish. Perfect in combination with lamb on the spit and aged red meat on the barbecue. Goes also well with roasted red peppers and stuffed ripe tomato in the oven. Serving temperature: 15°C.
The Ouled Taleb estate in the Benslimane region, founded in 1926, 50 km north-east of Casablanca, is the oldest winery still in operation in the Kingdom. The estate's first harvest took place in 1927.
In 1968, the Thalvin company was set up to run the Ouled Thaleb winery, which covers almost 500 hectares planted exclusively with noble grape varieties of French origin. From the outset, Domaine Ouled Thaleb understood that the future of Moroccan wine lay not in the wine industry, but in the era of cooperative estates and cellars.
Prioritising quality over yield, and noble grape varieties such as Syrah, the estate is a pioneer in the art of winegrowing in Morocco.
Morocco's sloping vineyards and mild temperatures make it a privileged wine-growing region. By combining the experience of its oenologists with the quality of its terroir, the estate has been able to expand its range and introduce a genuine quality policy. Today, Domaine Ouled Thaleb is unquestionably one of Morocco's leading estates.
Thanks to the dynamism and love of their work, a handful of winegrowers are committed to producing quality wines like Cuvée TANDEM, a 100% Syrah wine.
The star of the red wine cellar is the cuvée Tandem, which we present here: The result of a collaboration between Alain Graillot, the famous Crozes-Hermitage winemaker, and Jacques Poulain, an oenologist from Bordeaux who has lived in Morocco since 1997, the TANDEM cuvée emphasises the quality of Moroccan wine.
