Wine Story

TEMET winery cultivates 37,8 ha of vineyards, divided into 19 parcels, which are cast into two locations, 250-330m above the sea level. The topography of the “Temet Breg” offers three kinds of various soils which has allowed for the planting of autochthonous sorts: Prokupac, Morava, Tamjanika, and also selected expositions of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Мerlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon.

Strains are carefully selected, with various clones, and together they offer the best characteristics of each sort. The cultivation method provides for the growth of grapevines which are forced to compete among themselves in controlled conditions and to absorb the nutritive elements and moisture from the soil. This competitive spirit makes the vines strong enough to produce high-quality grapes. The grapes we use come exclusively from our vineyards. We seek to maintain a strong connection to the grapevine through all our knowledge and respect for the environment. We remain traditionalists, despite the ever-growing technology of wine-making.

The vineyard work, (pruning, varnishing, twisting of the vine, picking grapes) is all done by hand, thus contributing to increased wine quality. In 2018 we first made the decision to breed our wine exclusively by natural methods, with no chemical fertilizers or insecticides, only organic.

We believe that contemporary knowledge can be applied to traditional methods of wine production. We make no compromises, we cherish true values.
