Costers Del Priorat

Frank estuvo en Priorat hará mas de un año. El único contacto que había tenido con él era en la Prowein de 2019. Había sido una reunión corta, él escuchaba atentamente mis comentarios mientras tomaba nota de su cata. Al finalizar solo me dijo “hablamos en unos meses”.

Y así fue. Vino a Priorat un día de muchísimo calor. Quedamos muy pronto en el centro de Falset (Capital de la comarca del Priorat) y desde allí salimos a visitar varios de nuestros viñedos históricos, cepas viejas plantadas antes del 1940 en las poblaciones de Bellmunt y Torroja del Priorat. El día fue genial, subimos por unos viñedos plantados en “Costers” (fuertes pendientes), olimos las plantas aromáticas que salen de forma natural alrededor de los viñedos, catamos vinos en medio de los viñedos, conversamos sobre la vida e incluso hubo tiempo para filosofar Posteriormente nos dirigimos a la bodega donde terminamos degustando los vinos embotellados.

La verdad que Frank fue encantador, con su saber estar, sus comentarios y su amabilidad. Eso si, dijimos que habría una próxima visita en Priorat pero un día que menos calor durante otoño!

Frank was in Priorat over a year ago. The only contact I had with him was at the Prowein in 2019. It had been a short meeting, he listened attentively to my comments while taking note of his tasting. At the end he just said "we'll talk in a few months". And so it was. He came to Priorat on a very hot day.

We soon met in the centre of Falset (the capital of the Priorat region) and from there we went to visit several of our historical vineyards, old vines planted before 1940 in the towns of Bellmunt and Torroja del Priorat. The day was great, we climbed some vineyards planted in "Costers" (steep slopes), smelled the aromatic plants that grow naturally around the vineyards, tasted wines in the middle of the vineyards, talked about life and even had time to philosophize. Later we went to the cellar where we ended up tasting the bottled wines. Frank was really charming, with his knowledge, his comments and his kindness. Of course, we said that there would be a next visit in Priorat but a day that would be less hot during autumn!
